Cogent Bank (Cogent) is a state-chartered bank that has operated as a full-service commercial and retail bank since its inception as Pinnacle Bank in 1999. In 2018, Chirag Bhavsar, a University of Florida alumnus and finance veteran with more than 30 years of professional experience, and a group of investors recapitalized the bank, established a new management team and Board of Directors, and changed the name to Cogent Bank.
